About

My name is Maximilian Jüngling. I’m an engineer from Munich and passionate about photography. It all started during my student years—after long nights out, I’d take random photos on my way home with my phone. By getting super close to objects or framing them in unusual ways, everyday moments suddenly looked abstract. What began as a fun little experiment turned into an inside joke in WhatsApp chats, then framed gifts for friends, and eventually my artistic identity: MXJ.

Some of my earliest works from that time are called MXJ Originals — a small collection marking the beginning of my photography journey:

Over time, my photography has evolved—from quick snapshots to a more deliberate exploration of perspective. Especially when traveling, I love how telephoto lenses reveal details that usually go unnoticed.

Beyond traditional photography, I also experiment with digital techniques. I capture images and transform them on the computer—sometimes using my own algorithms, sometimes just keeping it simple in Lightroom or even PowerPoint. The result is often something entirely different from the original photo. You can see examples of this in the collections Symmetric Steel and Coloured Squares.
